Job Summary:
The Vice President, Technology – Online Marketplace will prepare, implement and monitor the technology roadmap that addresses the company’s business needs, ensure future scalability and also fuels growth. The job involves leading the DBA and Linux Server Administration Teams along with the web based application development as per the business needs. S/He shall also prepare, implement and monitor the processes to ensure data security, disaster recovery and timely & error free project deployment.
Tasks:
1. Research, identify and deploy latest tools and techniques for continual improvement in performance of software and applications deployed
2. Monitoring and analysis of key systems performance indicators including data related to database servers, web-servers, bandwidth consumption & speed, network, downtime, peak utilization, etc.
3. Plan and execute adequate redundancies and load balancing to cater to growing traffic on B2B marketplace and company's Intranet usage
4. Developing performance metrics and monitoring key parameters to increase the overall productivity of the technology team
5. Supervising, reviewing and interfacing with SBU heads for regular and effective technology deployment, resource utilization, project implementation, application performance and ensuring strict compliance of company’s technology standards & policy framework
6. Will be the nodal touch-point for resolution of all technology related user complaints.
7. Develop and execute an enterprise-wide information security plan that protects the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of the company’s data and servers, along with an enterprise-wide disaster recovery and business continuity plan.
8. Select and set systems for project management, bug tracking, coding conventions and documentation standards. Establish and supervise a quality assurance process, including integration and system testing.
Experience:
Min 8 - 12 years of experience in handling technology infrastructure for high-volume websites / web services, OLTP systems in LAMP (Linux, Apache, MySQL, Php / Perl) environment. Must possess sound knowledge of Oracle & DB architecture.
Skill Sets:
1. Exhibit strong leadership and exceptional technical skills
2. Should be process oriented with an eye for detail
3. Should have managed large, heterogeneous enterprise technology infrastructure.
4. Well-versed with open source technology
5. Able to inspire team and lead from the front and adhere to tough timelines.
6. Possess a proven history of innovation in a constantly changing high-pressure web based services environment
7. Strong business & technical vision with the ability to understand user requirements and develop specifications
8. Familiarity with information security vulnerabilities and risk management
Qualifications:
A degree in computer science with MBA or a PG Diploma in Management
