Product Manager – Consumer Products
Role & Responsibilities
• Experience in creating MRDs and PRDs
• Understand user needs, gather requirements, create roadmaps and work with Product visionaries and Engineering team and UI and Usability and QA teams to launch new products
• Actively seek new products to integrate with current product lines
• Drive Agile/Scrum based product development
• Execute on the product roadmap aligned with overall strategy through the development process.
• Accurate/realistic estimations for functional and non-functional requirements.
• Closely work with engineering, QA and Ux Team to ensure timely and quality deliverables with clear communication.
• Cross team/channel coordination of requirements to the design and development teams.
• Bug triaging and prioritization
• Ability to take key decision where technology and market trade-off is required
• Align inputs/feedback from product roadmap, market strategy and competitive analysis with ongoing development.
• Predict/identify high-impact changes. Ability to handle pressing timeline of deliverables.
• Create a tactical execution plan (Sprints) in alignment with overall product goals and milestones and in co-ordination with the Product Engineering teams.
• Track progress against goals/timelines, identify relevant risks and recommend resolution.
• Measure effectiveness of platform through well defined performance metrics.
• Responsible for gathering competitive industry and market analysis to understand customer needs current trends and partnership opportunities
• Excellent understand on Web / Mobile usability and an ability to guide the Ux team
Skills and Experience
• Experience in software product development/management.
• Excellent understanding of social media
• Basic understand of Agile / Scrum based product development
• Demonstrated success defining/developing/launching excellent consumer class software
• Well versed with technology stack and ongoing trends so as to give the right requirements to the Engineering teams.
• Excellent oral, written, presentation and organizational skills.
• Familiar with telecom industry (operators & end consumer perspective) and handheld devices/platforms.
• Able to extract and quickly communicate key information to relevant stakeholders.
• Proven product management skills, including experience identifying and prioritizing project issues and managing to resolution.
• Expertise in requirements tracking throughout software lifecycle
• Proven ability to influence cross-functional teams without formal authority
• Great critical/rational thinking with problem solving skills.
